Alaric Saltzman came to be the new history teacher at Mystic Falls High School. His real agenda though is he is a vampire hunter. A few years earlier he witnessed his love, Isobel, being attacked by Damon. After he finds out Isobel asked Damon to turn him he ends up becoming allies with the Salvatore brothers to stop the tomb vampires. He has just started dating Jenna.
